Like you said, the sick people are staying at home. There's no way I'd get sick at work. [ Although she's apparently at least letting his first comment slip - usually she may have teased him over Rin saying something like that, but not now. ]

And I'd hate to leave even one person without a source of entertainment at a time like this. Even if a lot of people are sick, there's people who aren't, so it's not like I can let them down.

[ Secret responsibility levels are way too high. ]

[ Giving a ridiculous answer - although very low, almost deadpan, like there's no energy in it.

Mostly since the true answer is that nope, nothing is going to change her mind, so there's no serious answer to give to that which Rin will accept. ]

[gnasher]

Oh, I didn't think of Hong Kong. He'd probably be pretty concerned about his pig-headed girlfriend, huh?

He knows I'll be fine. [ H... opefully..? Truthfully, it's not like she wants to worry Hong Kong, but that's exactly why she has to make sure to pretend she's capable of handling all this somehow. ]

I take care of myself plenty of times. [ biggest lie told in the history of humankind when it comes to minako. ] I'll just take a nice and hot bath when I get home tonight, even if it'll end up a little late.

[ Considering she has to run to Serenity's place straight after work.. but whatever, Rei's going to have to deal with Minako's midnight baths, okay. ]

Shouldn't you be worrying about her instead?

[ She's seen Gou with all those bandages and all, okay.. she didn't exactly look like she was doing great, even if she was still pretty spirited. ]

I think she needs it a whole lot more. Besides, she's your sister.

[gnasher]

She's coming in to work even though she's stuck to some buff guy because you won't shut down the cafe!

I know! [ right back to snappy just for the occasion.. although there's something oddly desperate about it. ]

I've been plenty worried about her too, okay?! I told her to just go home and I'd handle it by myself just about a thousand times, but she didn't listen! It's not like it's my fault!

[gnasher]

Hn? Oi, don't underestimate the Matsuoka family. She's going to do the right thing and be by your side.

[reloves]

It's got nothing to do with that! [ She knows Gou isn't some weakling or anything, but still.. ] It's my responsibility to keep this place open, and it's just mine.

[ Because it had been Usagi's place. And even if Serenity is here now, it's still different, it's not Usagi, not her best friend - so as long as she's not here, Minako's got to keep the place open. Isn't that why she took over when Usagi disappeared? ]

No one has to get hurt for my sake or whatever. Do you think I'm that much of a selfish girl?

[gnasher]

Yeah, I do. It's selfish of you to tell others how to feel about you.

[reloves]

[ That actually audibly makes her pause for a moment, opening and closing her mouth before she continues. Her tone is a little more strained when she does. ]

W-well, it's selfish of you to tell me to stop doing what I want to do, so then that means we're even..!

[gnasher]

No. It's fine for a guy like me to be selfish. I'm always selfish. But you're better than that.

[reloves]

You really must not know me well to think I'm not some selfish girl. Isn't that normal? I decided on keeping this place open, so it stays open. I think up some weird thing, and I make it happen.

That's how it always goes, nothing weird.

[gnasher]

No. You're a kindhearted girl.

[a sigh; he's giving in, a little. at least his sister will be there, to look after her]

Ch... you think your friends are really that blind?

[reloves]

Well.. you're mad at me for wanting to keep Moe Moe open, right?

[ Or more like this is Minako finally showing a hint of what goes on deeper down with her - just how easily she takes this stuff personally, just how quickly she's so hard on herself. It's just that she can easily cover it up better than this. ]

[gnasher]

I'm not mad at you. I'm frustrated 'cuz you don't listen to anybody when it comes to taking care of yourself.

Don't treat one of my closest friends here so harshly, or I really will get mad.

[reloves]

[ Somehow that last line is more powerful than any yelling or actually getting mad could have been. Maybe it's that he really calls her one of his closest friends here, or maybe just that he's going this far just to make sure she takes care of herself (something not many people have done before, really, because she's never really let anyone on to this side of her but Artemis), but she has to reach up to rub at her eye for a moment before she speaks on. ]

I'm sorry.. this place just-- it meant so much to Usagi-chan, so I want to do my best for it. Even if it means I'll have to work a little bit harder..

[gnasher]

You mean more to Usagi than her cafe does.

[reloves]

[ Excuse you!! Even if Minako knows it's true, but she's learned nothing her entire life but that her entire goal and duty is to sacrifice herself for Usagi at the drop of a hat.. this is only an extension of that. ]

Then even beyond Usagi-chan! I'm only one person, but Moe Moe's a source of happiness for everyone in this place.
